Ben Oakley Gallery is proud to present ‘Spilt Milk’ – Tom’s second solo show us, on view will be a new collection of beautifully crafted and exquisitely presented Box Framed hand finished Plates all produced during lockdown. 


Tom comes from a background in illustration and the graphic arts, with a restless love for peephole dioramas and cabinets of curiosity. He recently completed his first book ‘Out of The Box’ – A celebration all about assemblage, the possibility in found Things and the lost art of collecting in an increasingly cyber world. As well as being an investigative showcase of over 100 artists from 21 different countries, the book also features ‘local legends’ such as David Bray and Ben Oakley.

Tom is fascinated by cause and effect, the tactile relationship and collision between unlikely objects. His latest project uses discarded plates as illustrative storyboards, highlighted within bespoke crafted box frames. Roll up! Roll up! for some ceramic plate palm reading!
