Hello, we do hope everyone is well. As you may or may not know The Ben Oakley Gallery is having to leave our current premises No9 Turnpin Lane SE10 after 12 magnificent years. “Boooo Hissss”

(Well it is Panto season)

So throughout Decemeber we have a ‘Moving & an Emotional Sale’ up to 24^th Dec which will be our last day trading here.

It’s another classic short sighted Land Lords tale of Greed over Culture, Charity & Community. So, ‘COMING SOON’, TO GREENWICH MKT, ANOTHER EMPTY SHOP to go with all the others!! We feel they should be offering more Creative Opportunities, Cultural hubs & getting our community involved not eradicating the original feel and ethos of Greenwich Town and turning into a generic empty high street. (rant over)

So we’ve got plans & pots a boiling as you can imagine:

In January 2023 we will be going round the Bend!!! (that’s normal I hear you say!) OK, We are shacking up with Mork Babershop in No 2 Nelson Arcade literally 74ft & 4 inches away from our current location. Presenting amongst the barbers on all the walls upstairs for our New Bi Monthly Exhibitions, plus it comes with an underground space keeping in with our idiosyncratic charm & presentation. Currently @mork_barbershop we have a BAEL solo on show. No appt necessary just wander in & say Hi, Open 7 days a week. PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
We are having a celebration this Saturday 10^th Dec. H’s Mince Pies & Mulled Wine during the Day & Live music & Beer from 4.30/5pm. Then there may be a game of football starting at 7pm that might disperse the crowd? It’ll be on the Lap Top or at the branch office (The Coach & Horses)
Also in 2023 We will be doing some exciting new Art events in and around the area, collaborating with decent Local businesses. First up will be alternative ‘Life drawing evenings’ with our version of ‘Drink & Draw’ @ Daveys Wine Vaults SE10.
