‘PaintOpolis’ – Another Time, Another Space
We have been a keen supporter of Kim Tong’s work since the outset of the Gallery, having enjoyed her work in many group and joint exhibitions over the years. We are very excited to present her first solo here a stunning new collection of works that carry great depth and impact.
Tong’s paintings are about the sheer luxe of Paint, using veils of oil paint to create new territories, atmospheres and imagined worlds. These current paintings, completed over the last two years, feature retro women, kitsch Bambi’s and Siamese cats amongst the inhabitants. All delivered in Tong’s recognisable style. The influences are wide ranging, eclectic, and segue from 60s fashion, to 50s sci-fi film worlds.
And so a new Painted World awaits ….. Another Time Another Space …. PaintOpolis
