Friday, April 12 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Allow us to introduce our next Exhibition ‘RIOT OF COLOUR’ with three new artists to the gallery Ben Oakley Gallery.

freemanukuk Graham Freeman
hotballoonart   Paul Dodd
ptototypetmart   Rich Dufty

As the title conveys this is a fresh and vibrant show that fills the gallery with colour and positivity and in the true ethos of the B.O.G we are showing a trio of artists who are at an very early stage of their career full of new concepts and philosophies.
Paul Dodd, aka Hot Balloon Art, is a self-taught planet conscious artist using his own bright and colourful unique abstract style on abandoned wood pallets. He says, abandoned pallets are like rats in London, so he will never run out of materials. He likes the idea of repurposing these well-travelled tools once they are left derelict and their duty is done.
Hot Balloon works as a paramedic in central London and uses bright colours as a mirror opposite to the darker side of life that he regularly deals with. (Like Rothko on Acid!!!)

Graham Freeman aka FREEMANUK_
Freeman is a Brighton based artist that crosses the boundary between urban and contemporary art producing work that not only captures the essence of his subject but brings it to prominence through his use of brash colour and fierce brush strokes.
Freeman chooses classic icons from children’s tv and film world & cross pollinates them with classic pop art culture annotating humorous phrases that shock growing them up instantly. His work has an immediacy that has no end in sight.

Richard Dufty started Prototype TM in 2022, following over 25 years as a Motion Designer and Creative Director.
When diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer in 2021, he turned his attention to creating his own artwork – finding an outlet for his design and cultural interests with incredible, original pieces.
Although Rich is no longer with us, his artwork lives on – using graphic abstraction and mixed media art to engage, surprise, and inspire nostalgia and positivity. The profits from Richard’s work will go to his wife and three boys.

We are really looking forward to seeing you all back in the Ben Oakley Gallery for another great evening. Due to renovations, we’re only showing upstairs Saturday & Sunday and working by appointment during the weekdays.

Please call the gallery in advance for a private tour at your convenience.
