I’ve always been fascinated and in awe of the artistic skills of others, yet shy to show my own skills.  However I took the opportunity and made the plunge to join the rest, with eyes squeezed tight and excitement in my tummy.  I have no regrets!

My work is contemporary, colourful, fun and fresh.  My photographic style reportage and observational.

My game-plan is to fill my life with the combination of travel and art, enjoying people and cultures along the way.  And to keep creating fresh work.

Prior to solely being an artist, my jobs ‘in the real world’ were always in the creative fields of advertising and media.

I feel so lucky that I was part of a 2 man team who launched McDonald’s Happy Meals (other hamburgers are available ) in the UK.  I designed Happy Meal Boxes and toys, and managed logistics for the first 5 years.

Some of my first commercial work with my camera, was for Rimmel London, covering their commercial shoots.  What a brilliant and fascinating world .

As were the shoots for Stylist and Shortlist magazine.

My style and artistic eye can be seen in all my work including Weddings.  I capture the beauty, romance, fun and celebrations of the day, creating lasting memories.

2014 also saw the launch of a wonderful collection of Habotai silk scarves created using a collection of my London images and totally produced in England.  They are simply beautiful and still retain a sense of fun.  Wear them for their colours.  Hang them for the image.  Its wearable art!

The ideas keep coming … and I’m as intrigued as you are … keep any eye on this site.

I look forward to you seeing mine and all the work in the Ben Oakley Gallery soon.
