All work will be for sale and adorn the walls above the newly installed traditional wood panelling, there will be a stocked bar in the corner of the room, Tankards & Horse Brass Plaques just across from the Dart board and Piano area, a roaring open fire will only add to the welcoming nature of the show.

‘I COULD HAVE BEEN A NOBODY’

This collection is a time slice, with traces of Oakleys’ previous incarnations, from Film to Mosaics, Aerosol to Acrylics including the reuse of collectables that are reborn as Modern object D’art with a huge wedge of irony and black humour. In his larger paintings Oakley confidently overlays and repeats shapes using strong colours that create an up lifting, engaging and atmospheric feeling. There is a uniformity hidden within the chaos that keeps the viewer comfortably engaged.

On view for the first time will be a series of Lithographs produced exclusively by Master Printer Lee Turner from Hole Editions, Newcastle. Turner trained for years at the renowned Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque and has worked with, amongst others George Shaw and Turner Prize winner Richard Wright.
